Boosted self-confidence
For my son Matthew, this is becoming a reality. Matthew has been learning guitar at the Children’s Music Centre now for the last 5 years, and it’s great! And he loves it!
It has boosted his self-confidence, and giving him a new skill has really developed his creativity. It’s still a problem getting him to do his homework, but not a problem to get him to do his guitar practice… in fact it’s almost a problem getting him to stop playing!
I think playing the guitar is so much better for him than sitting around playing computer games or watching TV. Also, now he has a chance to perform in the CMC biannual concerts. To be honest, that has also boosted his confidence as well as giving him valuable performance skills. It’s the one thing he’s actually stuck at.

As we walked along the beach path in our wedding dresses and feeling so excited, towards the part where we would say 'I do', I clearly remember hearing the gorgeous lilt of your harp! It was magical!

Encouraging and inspiring
When I think back to my lessons with Karen, I remember how much I enjoyed myself and how in awe I was of her genuine enthusiasm and love for music. She gave me a really strong base in harmony and improvisation, which is something I later rediscovered as being really important to becoming a well-rounded musician.
Karen gives her students space to flair as individuals and follow their own creative paths, and her passion is contagious.
Of all of the teachers I learnt with in my early musical life, she is the one who most encouraged and inspired me to pursue music. I’m now studying at the Royal College of Music in London, and I am incredibly grateful to Karen for giving me the start I had, and more than happy to provide a testimonial.

Delightful performance
Karen Jones is a wonderful musician who is sensitive to the occasion.
We recently held our club's 40th anniversary for 130 guests. Karen's performance was delightful. Playing her harp and singing beautifully she hit exactly the right note for the evening.
